ABOUT ME
Eva Francés holds a Bachelor in Sciences (Chemistry) (1989) and PhD in Science (1993).
She is Professor at the University of Zaragoza since 1992; first, as Assistant Professor (Profesora Asociada), later as Associate Professor of technical school (Titular Escuela Universitaria) (1998) and finally as University Associate Professor (Titular de Universidad) (2008-present), belonging to the area of Chemical Engineering at the School of Engineering and Architecture (EINA) of the University of Zaragoza (UZ).
She has been Professor-Secretary of the University School of Industrial Technical Engineering (1997-2000) and Coordinator of the degree in Chemical Engineering at the UZ (2010-2015). Nowadays, she is a member of the Degree Quality Garantie Comission.
She has developed her research activity in several fields, starting with the kinetic study and modeling of the FCC process, to continue the process of biomass gasification, selective catalytic oxidation, dry reforming of biogas and finally CO2 hydrogenation. She has also conducted timely studies on water purification and potabilization, such as metal adsorption or catalytic hydrogenation of nitrates.
She is a member of the Research Group of Excellence (recognized by the DGA -Gobierno de Aragón- in 2005): “Catalysis and Reactor Engineering (CREG)” and member of the Engineering Research Institute of Aragon (I3A) from 29 June 2012 to the present.
She has participated in 13 Research and Development projects financed in public calls and 4 projects with companies /administrations.
She has directed more than 120 end-of-career projects (Proyectos Fin de Carrera) and 30 end-of-grade projects (Trabajos Fin de Grado), many of them related to her research tasks.

abstract = {A simulation of the catalytic CO2 methanation reaction was carried out, evaluating the effect of reactants distributed feeding throughout the bed. The main operational parameters were studied in a multiple-inlet reactor to test their effect on conversions and, most importantly, on selectivities towards both CO and CH4 as reaction products. The analyzed parameters were, firstly, the number of feeding points (N) and the dosage degree of reactants, followed by temperature (T), partial pressures of reactants (H2:CO2 ratios), and the composition of a sweetened biogas as feeding stream (CH4:CO2 ratios). It is confirmed that a distribution of biogas through several side inlets improves selectivities to the desired CH4 product, over other feeding configurations. The effect of distributing reactants becomes intensified when the number of lateral feedings increases. This observation supports the experimental trends already proven in previous works. Regarding main operation parameters such as temperature and H2:CO2 molar ratio, the analysis confirmed that their influence on selectivities acts just as predicted at low conversions. However, when these conversions become higher the space velocity (WHSV) is the most important factor for selectivities. Finally, no significant changes in reaction performance were obtained when modifying the biogas CH4:CO2 ratio in the broad range of methane concentrations from 55 v% to 70 v%.},
