Continuous improved sorption enhanced reactors for CO₂ hydrogenation.

The proof of concept of a new type of reactor for the production of e-methanol is being carried out. This new reactor is based on the combination of the catalytic reaction of CO₂ hydrogenation with the adsorption of the water formed in the reaction, with a continuous flow of fresh adsorbent. This configuration would allow continuous operation in steady-state. The removal of one of the products from the reaction medium would provide methanol yields greater than the maximum that a conventional reactor can achieve under the same conditions.
